ARTIST STATEMENT

Happy am I to be a painter it calls into my life those parts of my mind which direct both eye and hand. Light and color, the truth of beauty of line and form, I think this heightened sense of observation of nature is one of the chief delights that have come to me through painting.

My art is a passionate exploration of how I perceive any given situation, inspired by my constant curiosity and questions sing the form figuratively, but also abstractly as a metaphor, creates landscapes of bodies, honoring “Mother Earth,” and that also pays homage to the power of women, as the foundation of life and the force behind the spiritual growth of humanity.

Painting is a companion with whom one may hope to walk a great part of life’s journey

          ‘Age cannot wither her nor custom stale Her infinite variety.’

My current works address the surreal, intangible world of social media, memories, dreams and relationships, embracing the beautiful, bizarre, and melancholic.  driven to produce meditations on life, both from a real-time perspective, and a time–lapse notion, a slice of everyday existence, that brings to a head the trials of life as we know it.

If existence is but a card game, is a moment of decision an eternity in the blink of an eye?
